Summary and Purpose of Position

Responsibility for the development and management of the sector / unit (as appropriate). This includes full accountability for services, campaigns, performance and profitability of the account, whilst also maintaining a high level of client and team satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities
(include, but are not limited to):

  • As an expert in the events industry, you should have an excellent understanding of the role and value of events in supporting lead generation, nurture and sales enablement programmes. Your awareness, knowledge and insight of the latest event trends and innovations will be critical to success, alongside your recommendations on how these factors could impact or improve client programmes and the Audience proposition.
  • Working with the Account Director, to define and develop the Audience business sector growth plan for strengthening sales and services and client excellence – including identification of key commercial objectives, strategy, tactics, potential risks, industry opportunities and measurable KPIs.
  • To drive the account strategy and take lead responsibility for the retention and growth of client account(s)to reach quarterly and annual revenue and margin targets.
  • Review pricing policies and suggest ideas that drive higher revenue.
  • Ensuring projects are managed and delivered within budget, acting as the day to day escalation point for queries.
  • Carry out Account portfolio SWOT and planning assessments.
  • To suggest new ideas and technical innovations that improve the Audience proposition.
  • Build strong working relationships with key client contacts at a senior and strategic level to earn more about their needs and challenges, gaining mutual trust and respect.
  • Develop mutually beneficial relationships with complimentary partners across the globe to offer a wider range of communications and event services.
  • Network regularly at industry events and associations.
  • Working closely with the Project Management team, to oversee the direction and management of the event team as they deliver event campaigns, ensuring they deliver on brief budget, deadlines, and to the highest quality.
  • Coach, mentor and lead with clear direction and focus on their roles and responsibilities set to achieve the business plan and associated targets and metrics.
  • Show a driven, hands-on management style that guides event best practice, raises account team performance and upholds the general vitality of the agency/client relationship.

  • 7+ years successful comms and event management experience, planning and running mid-large B2B corporate events – conferences, breakfast briefings, VIP dinners, exhibitions, roadshows
  • Excellent understanding of event marketing and audience engagement with C’Level, LOB and IT decision makers. Ideally using integrated comms involving digital and social media pre-event and on-site
  • The ability to assist clients in understanding and defining objectives from an audience perspective
  • Demonstrates the ability to innovate and challenge the status quo
  • Preferably holds a professional qualification in a relevant field
  • Ability to build new networks and identify new business opportunities, both with in current client organizations and also potential new clients

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven record of communications experience: 7+ years in at least one specific domain area
  • 7+ years successful event management experience, planning and running mid-large B2B corporate events – conferences, breakfast briefings, VIP dinners, exhibitions, roadshows
  • Excellent understanding of event marketing and audience engagement with C’Level, LOB and IT decision makers. Ideally using integrated comms involving digital and social media pre-event and on-site
  • Experience of working in a global agency is a plus
  • German B2 or higher
