Charlotte Frederiksen

Through a process of research and testing, Charlotte’s approach to honing intuition and self-insight skills is rational, consisting of theory and exercises that practice intuition like a muscle. Delegates will gain a deeper understanding of intuition, practice flexing their intuition muscle, and take away skills for creating a habit of harnessing this resource regularly.

“Building a Resilient Workforce”
Martin Daubney

Martin Daubney facilitates a workshop on building resilience at Audience's HR Forum 'TOGETHR' in Basel on December 3 2018.Resilience is the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties, and is a vital tool for managing mental health. How strong and efficient this tool is differs from person to person, but it is not a fixed capability but rather a quality that can be exercised and developed. Martin will introduce attendees to some skills necessary for increasing adaptability, flexibility, and confidence, maintaining performance and stamina during peak times, and to be able to think more clearly and logically under pressure.

“Voices of HR Leadership”
Suzanne Lucas

Suzanne Lucas, the Evil HR Lady, speaker for HR Forum TOGETHR in Basel on December 3 2018

To make the level of impact on organizations that HR professionals require, it takes more than just great communication skills…it takes Voices of Leadership. In this interactive workshop, Suzanne is joined by presenter coach Tim Ferguson to take the principles of HR leadership shared by Suzanne and practically applying them to a skill-building model created by Tim. Everyone will have a chance to practice and learn from their peers.

“Supporting Extra-Dependent Teams”
David Kesby

David Kesby, author and organizational coach, will talk about extra-dependent teams about Audience's HR Forum in Basel on December 3 2018.

The conventional way of thinking about teams is an interdependent group of people who all work together to achieve a common goal. David Kesby believes there is a second class of teams that large organisations have but do not recognise: extra-dependent teams, in which team members deal largely with people outside their team. David will share his research and some practical exercises to realise the power that both types of team can have within organisations when combined together.

Developing Resilience and Stress Management for HR Professionals with Martin Daubney

Martin Daubney facilitates a workshop on building resilience at Audience's HR Forum 'TOGETHR' in Basel on December 3 2018.

HR professionals know very well that they work in a high-pressure environment. As organizations become more and more agile, employees too must strive to adapt to change keep up with the pace. But it’s not easy, and the toll this pressure takes on the psyche is not uncommon.

Resilience is the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties, and is a vital tool for managing mental health. How strong and efficient this tool is differs from person to person, but it is not a fixed capability but rather a quality that can be exercised and developed.

Executive Coach Martin Daubney applies nearly three decades of global corporate experience – mostly in the pharmaceutical sector – in fields like sales, marketing, and internal communications, to a growing demand for executive coaching.

At our HR Forum ‘TOGETHR’ on December 3, Martin’s workshop ‘Building a Resilient Workforce’ will introduce attendees to some skills necessary for increasing adaptability, flexibility, and confidence, maintaining performance and stamina during peak times, and to be able to think more clearly and logically under pressure.

David Kesby Presents ‘The Past is One Team: The Future is Two’

David Kesby, author and organizational coach, will talk about extra-dependent teams about Audience's HR Forum in Basel on December 3 2018.

The conventional way of thinking about teams is a group of people who all work together to achieve a common goal – a team without a common goal is just a group, after all. But who wants to lead a group? For engagement, for performance, and for leadership, teams are the answer.

But many teams don’t conform to convention. Think of a team of project managers, or regional managers. When they are performing, they are almost entirely working with people outside their team. Leading them can be like herding cats, and the conventional view of teams cites them as dysfunctional.

David Kesby, author and Organisational Coach, believes that it’s our viewpoint that’s dysfunctional. He calls these teams “extra-dependent” and has found that they are commonplace in organisations. Leadership isn’t about herding cats – it’s about facilitating each cat to learn to be more “cat”.

At our HR Forum ‘TOGETHR’ in Basel on December 3, David will share his research and some practical exercises to realise the power that both types of team can have within organisations when combined together.

We Are All HR

Visual to accompany blog post "We are all HR" to promote Audience's First HR Forum "TOGETHR" in Basel on December 3 2018.

For those of us whose job title says “Human Resources,” clearly we work in HR. But for the rest of us? Can one work in HR without the “HR” title? The answer is yes. In fact, nearly all of us work in HR.

The illusion that Human Resources is a box-like entity living in a silo is quickly fading. Technological advances, for one, are not only changing the way we live and the way we work, but also the human  resources organizations need to meet ever-changing demands.

The pharmaceutical industry is a great example. Healthcare professionals are moving away from one-size-fits-all treatments, demanding instead personalized solutions that target individual patient needs. These solutions require an innovative approach in technology to manage the scores of data personalized healthcare entails.

However, the innovative tech expert who could manage these projects doesn’t come to Basel for a career in tech.

For a location like Basel to catch the attention of a tech guru whose eyes are on the Google headquarters in Silicon Valley, who can influence that shift? Almost everyone!

From civil servants, to members of the pharmaceutical world, to the healthcare community, to researchers, and to all the agencies and freelancers hired along the way – everyone plays a role.

Paving the path for these new ways of working goes beyond the traditional Human Resources model and yet couldn’t be more HR-related. If your role includes hiring, training, retaining, and engaging with employees, you work in HR.

But it doesn’t end there – you also work in HR if:

  •        Your professional success depends on a collaboration between you and your peers
  •        You spend any of your work hours hoping to influence the decision-making of your peers
  •        Being mindful of your colleagues’ time, ambitions, and skill-sets helps you reach your professional goals

People who engage with the employee base work in HR. And who doesn’t do that?

Now that you know you are an HR professional, don’t miss Audience’s first Human Resources Forum TOGETHR on December 3, 2018 – read more and save a seat here.
